Jamie McHugh (Royaume-Uni) Jamie McHugh's tracks and remixes are already finding favour with the worlds best DJs. His massive "Arcadia" track has already featured on BBC Radio 1's Essential mix and Pete Tongs Essential Selection whilst recieving continued support from the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, The MYNC Project, Nic Fanciulli and James Zabiela and has been snapped up by David Duriez's awesome Brique Rouge Label. His first venture into the murky waters of production has just been released on James Harcourt's Twisted Frequency imprint and the next track "Yeah", a collaboration with DJ Ricky Stone who incidently, was recently voted one of the DJ magazine 50 best DJs in the world, looks certain to mirror that success with a release later this year on the MYNC project's CR2 label, home to the likes of Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Skylark etc. And then there's Glitch" another collaboration this time with uber talented DJ/Producer Dave Robertson a track that has already been signed to Nic Fanciulli's Saved label. Jamie has also found the time to remix the seminal progressive classic "Pure" by Hawaii for Twisted Frequency, a track which previously featured on two Renaissance Masters compilations for both Hernan Cattaneo & Dave Seaman is now being championed by a host of "Premier" DJs including the aforementioned Seaman and Cattaneo but also Chris Salt and Nick Warren. With remix projects for Ricky Stone and Red Recordings completed and more brand new tracks ready to be unleashed in the coming weeks, Jamie's keeping himself very busy. A DJ in his own right, Jamie's mix CDs have found favour with Tom Stephan, Nico de Ceglia (Radio 1), Kammishake (Toolroom, Azuli), James Talk, Nic Fanciulli and DJ mag who gave rave reviews for his latest mix in a recent article. Jamie has recently played alongside everyone from Rui Da Silva and Nick Warren to Seamus Haji. He runs a successful internet radio show where he has already played host to the likes of Nic Fanciulli, Tom Stephan, Paolo Mojo, Justin Martin , Greg Vickers, James Harcourt and Demi to name a few. Not content with having his own radio show Jamie's has also featured as a guest on Kiss100, and supplied guest mixes for Mercury Sessions, Proton & Ministry Of Sound Radio. "Dont ask to define my style quips Jamie; I play everything from deep house to electro, tech house to twisted breaks and everything in between. I like to start off nice and slow and build a mood teasing effects and acapellas into the groove before picking up the pace. He has played at nearly every major club in London including Turnmills, Fabric, Hidden, Fire, The End & the Cross, but also major European spots such as the Triebhouse in Neuss, Germany. Jamie says "I try to use every bit of technology available when playing out, scratching, efx, acapellas and live loops fill my sets". So whats in store for the next 12 months? Plans are being laid to launch his "Therapy" Club Night later this summer, the night will be held in one of the few London venues in possession of a 24hr licence and will feature outstanding local talent alongside hand picked guests and with his tracks; Arcadia, Yeah, Glitch & A.W.O.L and remixes for Adjust and Red Recordings all being released this year, one things for sure, Jamie McHugh has a very exciting future ahead of him!!
